Town of Duluth Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map No. 6 have been adopted as of April 20, 2022

The Town of Duluth Zoning Ordinance Number 6 and Zoning Map Number 6 are in effect as of April 20, 2022.  The Planning Commission has completed the year long process of updating the Town’s current Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map.  An Open House was held in October of 2021 to present Draft Zoning Ordinance No. 6 and the accompanying Zoning Map.  A Public Hearing was held in December of 2021 on Proposed Zoning Ordinance No. 6 and Proposed Zoning Map No. 6.  After considering all comments received at both meetings, as well as submitted written comments, the Commission put forward the Recommended Zoning Ordinance No. 6 and Recommended Zoning Map No. 6 to the Town Board of Supervisors for their consideration.  The Town Board voted unanimously to adopt Zoning Ordinance No. 6 and Zoning Map No. 6 on April 12, 2022.  Following legal notification in the Town’s newspaper of record, the Duluth News Tribune, on April 20, 2022, Ordinance No. 6 and Zoning Map No. 6 are in effect.

The Town would like to thank all members of the community who participated in the process.

Comprehensive Land Use Plan

Background Documents for the Comprehensive Land Use Plan

As a part of the 2019/2020 update of the CLUP, the Community Steering Group for the CLUP elicited input from Township residents to identify the Township’s core community values. The Core Community Value Statements can be seen here: Core Community Values

To assist in updating the CLUP, Planning Staff prepared a report, Looking Back, Looking Forward: A Review of the 2002 Comprehensive Land Use Plan 2002-2018. The purpose of this report was to determine the accomplishments made towards meeting the vision of the 2002 CLUP and to provide other pertinent information about the Township in order to identify issues, concerns, and opportunities for updating the CLUP. The report can be seen here: Looking Back, Looking Forward
