Attention Graduates!

Class of 2021  (High School, College, Preschool, Graduate School, ect) that would like to be featured in the November Newsletter.

Please send their picture, name, parent’s names, school they will be graduating from, special achievements (sports, clubs, honors, etc.) and any future plans they may have to the Deputy Clerk: deputyclerkduluthtwp@gmail.com or drop off at the Town Hall during office hours.

Town Hall and Community Room is NOW open during office and recycling hours. To reserve the Hall or Community room for your private event, contact the Deputy Clerk.

  • Co-op Light and Power (CLP) Board of Directors Right-of-Way (ROW) Listening Session, September 27, 2021, 5:30 p.m.: The CLP Board will be at the Duluth Town Hall to hear from members about the Co-ops ROW management practices. You must be a CLP member to attend. **UPDATE 9/24/2021: Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, only one or two board members may be able to attend this meeting. Board members present will relay comments and information to CLP board.**
  • Important Announcement from the Homesteaders! Walgreens will be unable to come to our October 6, 2021, meeting for the Flu Shot Vaccination Clinic this year.
  • Homesteaders Entertainment for October Meeting: Colette B will be out entertainment at our October 6, 2021, meeting. She will be presenting a demonstration on wellness and chair yoga. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
  • Clover Valley Farmers Market: Every Tuesday 4:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Babysitting Class at French River Lutheran Church:
    • When: Saturday, October 23, 2021; 9:00 – 3:00 p.m.
    • Where: French River Lutheran Church, 5310 Ryan Road, Duluth.
    • Cost: $20/student; class size is minimum of 10, maximum of 25 students. Recommended for age 12 years or older.
    • Register:  e-mail Drjockmock@msn.com Cash or check payment to “FRLC” is due on day of class.
    • Instructor:  Michelle Libby.
    • Course Information: This course will provide you with the necessary leadership skills and equip you with the essential caregiving skills and safety precautions to be a top-notch babysitter, giving parents peace of mind when hiring a sitter.
    • Day of Class Information: Please bring a bag lunch and payment to class.
    •  *Participants need to follow the current Covid plan of the church at the time of the class*
  • American Red Cross Blood Drive at French River Lutheran Church:
    • Date & Time: Tuesday, November 9, 2021 – 1  to 7 p.m.
    • Place: French River Lutheran Church, 5310 Ryan Road, Duluth, MN 55804
    • This community-wide blood drive is hosted by the French River Lutheran Church Outreach Committee. Thanks to your support, our previous blood drives have been very successful. All members of the Duluth Township community are welcome and encouraged to donate blood, as the need for blood continues to be great. Appointments are highly encouraged and may be made in one of these ways:
      1. Going to RedCrossBlood.org and searching for the French River Lutheran Church blood drive using sponsor code French River. First time donors will need to create a profile with a username and password (if you don’t already have one from donating previously).
      2. Downloading the Blood Donor App by searching “Red Cross Blood” on the App Store℠ or Google Play™ store.
      3. Contacting Beth Luikart (call 218-525-1596, or e-mail her at bluikart@outlook.com).
    • COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed during the blood drive. Donors and staff will have their temperatures checked before entering the Fellowship Hall; social distancing guidelines will be followed in all areas; and all donors, volunteers, and staff members will be required to wear a mask or face covering. You are encouraged to bring your own mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided. Further information about the blood donation process can be found online at RedCrossBlood.org.
