About the Arts and Heritage Group: Our newly remodeled Town Hall offers space for people to gather to share experiences and memories. It also offers space where historic artifacts, photographs, maps, paintings, quilts, fiber art and other items that reflect our heritage may be on display. A group of community members has been working on identifying ways in which the Town Hall can be a resource center, display space, and gathering place and we welcome your input! Please contact us if you have old photos of homesteading and/or activities within the township that you would be willing to have copied and displayed or artifacts (e.g. small pieces of farm equipment, old tools, household items, etc…) you would be willing to loan for inside display. We do not have the capacity to store items so they will be returned to you immediately following the display. Contact info: Jo Thompson woodfarm1785@gmail.com or Duane Madison at 525-5645.
Please do not drop off items at the Town Hall. Thank you.
Past Events:
Town Hall Dance and Social Saturday, February 22, 2019 6-9 pm
The Duluth Township Arts and Heritage Group invite you to a Town Hall Dance and Social! In years past, the Town Hall was one of the social event spots in the Township. These events included Saturday night dances. Come, join your neighbors and revive this spirit.
The dance will be from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a D.J, so if you have any favorite tunes bring them along. Music will be mixed. Expect anything from waltz, polka, two step, the twist and maybe even the shiggy! You don’t need to bring a partner. If you think you can’t dance, come early (6-7 pm) and instruction will be provided. If you still think you can’t dance, just join in for refreshment’s and socializing with your neighbors. All ages are welcome and encouraged.
There will also be some historical items on display from previous DTAHG programs. We will have light refreshments. If you want to bring something to share, that would be great, but not necessary. The event is free, but donations are always appreciated as the Arts and Heritage group brings you programs only through donations and grants.

Saturday Night Out (Saturday, November 2, 2019):

There was a time when the Duluth Township neighborhood was a hopping place. In the past people gathered at taverns, restaurants, dance halls and perhaps, even at one time, speakeasies! There was live theater and a drive-in on the shore. Photos and presentations on the social spots that occupied our Township in years past were presented.
