Planning Commission meetings are held each month on the 4th Thursday at 7:00 pm at the Town Hall. Working meetings and public hearings are posted at official posting sites.

Meetings are open to the public and Town residents are encouraged to attend.


Planning & Zoning News:

Public Hearing on proposed zoning ordinance change,
Thursday, September 28, 7 pm, Town Hall.
The proposed Zoning Ordinance Change pertains to High Frequency Short Term Rentals.
The Town Board directed the Planning Commission to review zoning
requirements for high frequency short term rentals (sometimes referred to as
“vacation rentals” “VRBO’s, AirBnB, etc.). After reviewing, the Commission
recommended that the lot size requirement and the side yard setback
requirements be moved from performance standards to a conditional use
requirement. One of the effects of this recommendation is a high frequency short
term rental lot must be at least two acres and the short term rental dwelling must
be at least 50’ from the side yard property lines (requirements not subject to a
variance). There will be a Public Hearing on these proposed changes on Sept. 28th
at 7pm at the Town Hall. The Town invites you to weigh in on this proposed
change. If you wish to comment, please provide written responses or appear in
person at the Public Hearing. At the Public Hearing the Planning Commission will
hear all comments, deliberate, and then make a recommendation to the Town
Board. The Town Board is the final decision-maker on Ordinance changes.

Zoning Ordinance Number 5 is now in effect, as of December 31, 2015.

The Stormwater, Erosion, and Sediment Control Ordinance is now in effect, as of December 31, 2015. This new Ordinance is in response to USEPA and MPCA requirements.
