office in Two Harbors (1568 Hwy 2, 834-6609).

Township Legal Notices: (meetings, hearing, etc) are posted at the Town Hall and published in the Duluth News Tribune.  They are also posted at our Recycling Center, Scenic Café, Lighthouse Restuarant, North Shore Elementary School and Fire Station #1.
The Newsletter usually carries this information although it is published only 6 times per year.

Elections:  Town Board elections are held before the Township Annual Meeting in March (usually the second Tuesday). Elections are held in the Town Hall from 7:00am-8:00pm and the Annual Town Meeting starts after that at 8:15pm.
General elections are also held in the Town Hall.

Planning & Zoning Commission
Planning Commission meetings are held each month on the 4th Thursday at 7:30pm in the Town Hall.                  top

Duluth/North Shore Sanitary District.   (D/NSSD)  Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday, at 7:00am in the meeting room of the French River Lutheran Church on Ryan Road near Scenic 61.  John Bowen 525-6285  and Dean Korri 834-5111 are our Township representatives on the District.  Call 590-5911 Option 1  for Northeast Technical Services Emergencies or Service.

Duluth Township History
The North Shore Elementary School and residents of the Township prepared a history of the area called: 
Roots of the Past--Seeds for the Future, the heritage and history of Clover Valley, French River and Surrounding Communities.  It was published by the Clover Valley/French River Community History Committee and the North Shore Elementary School, Duluth, 2000. 
Copies may be available at Scenic Cafe, Barnes and Noble, and by contacting the school.

North Shore Celebration Video. A celebration of this project was held May 19th, 2000 where several of its contributors and residents of the area introduced some of the stories.  A video was prepared from this occasion and the video is available.

Duluth Township Newsletter: Volunteer editor: Don McTavish.  Leave news and information in the News Box on the porch railing outside the Town Hall or mail or phone the Town Hall (see address above).  The Newsletter is published every other month (January, March, May, July, September, November).  Deadlines are the 23rd of the month before the publishing month.  Copies are mailed to residents and available at the Town Hall.  E-mail the editor to correct mailing errors or to get on the mailing list.
